Ayla Oasis Development Company, in cooperation with the Aqaba Health Directorate, has organized a package of health and sports activities to celebrate the “Eighth Change Day.”
In continuation of its programs in support of the public health sector in Aqaba, Ayla Oasis Development Company, in cooperation with the Aqaba Health Directorate, has organized a package of health and sports activities to celebrate the “Eighth Change Day.” It comes synchronously with the celebration of the World Patient Health and Safety Day on which the World Health Organization is in charge. The launch of these events is an embodiment of Ayla’s strategy of social responsibility, which places the health sector and awareness of health and sports practices at the top of its priorities, in cooperation with the competent institutions.
In this regard, Ayla has organized a golf training day for a number of cancer patients, under the supervision of Ayla’s technical and training team. In addition, it offers an awareness lecture on proper nutrition, the benefits of healthy exercise, and the fight against smoking. That was in the celebration of “The Change Day” organized by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) for the eighth year in a row under the slogan “For your safety and mine, let’s change” synchronously with the World Patient Safety Day launched by the World Health Organization on September 17, 2021.
On this occasion, the CEO of Ayla Oasis Company, Eng. Sahel Doudin, said: “Ayla has always taken the initiative and supported environmental health and sports activities, reflecting its philosophy as a vibrant and active community. Our social responsibility strategy places the health sector at the top of the priorities. That has clearly appeared over the course of Ayla’s life that was extend a decade and a half. It was demonstrated during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to engage actively in initiatives that support the Jordanian health sector in Aqaba, improve the high accomplished achievements made in it, and put our positive mark on it.”
In turn, the Director of the Aqaba Health Directorate, Dr. Adnan Abbas, valued Ayla’s participation in supporting health sector initiatives at the level of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone as well as at the national level. He pointed out to a long and rich history of support, cooperation, and partnership, which Ayla was keen on enhancing the quality of medical services, patient safety, and promoting education on health practices.”
In light of the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization is planning to implement a series of virtual and educational activities to celebrate World Patient Safety Day throughout the month of September 2021. The global campaign’s mark will be a symbolic illumination in orange of landmarks to express patient safety globally.
The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) encourages, through “The Change Day” and for the eighth consecutive year, the promotion of entrepreneurship among workers and managers in the health sector and the need to pledge to change their behavior in the work environment for the better. Ayla’s participation in the celebration of the World Patient Health and Safety Day reflects its commitment to society, its role in supporting local institutions, and its active contribution to national action in compliance with its policy and institutional vision.
