Ayla Oasis Development Company and the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to give marine sports in Ayla a strong boost, especially in sailing and rowing, aiming to advance these sports nationally and internationally.

The MoU was signed today by Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Development Company, and His Excellency Mr. Ramzi Al-Kabariti, President of the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation, in the presence of Ayla’s executive management team and federation members.

Under the MoU, the two parties will collaborate on organizing sailing and rowing events at the upper lake at Beach No. 3 in Ayla, to promote these sports at the national level.

Ayla aims to strengthen its role in marine sports as part of its social responsibility strategy, which seeks to support the local community’s skills and abilities. The partnership with the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation will also support youth in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

On this occasion, Dudin stated, “We are pleased to announce our new partnership with one of the key players in national sports. We hope this collaboration will make a significant impact on marine sports and turn Ayla into a prominent platform for these activities.”

Dudin also revealed Ayla’s plans to launch a program to develop training facilities at Beach No. 3, dedicated to marine sports. This initiative will support the hosting of sailing and rowing training camps, collaboration with the federation on future events, and the creation of a long-term plan that benefits the local community, Jordanian sports, and tourism promotion.

For his part, Al-Kabariti said, “We are proud of this partnership with one of the leading institutions in the national sports sector. Ayla has long been a pioneer in supporting activities that aim to develop Aqaba’s sports and tourism sectors. We are confident that this partnership will drive progress in training camps, promotional competitions, skills development, and the growth of future generations of Jordanian athletes in sailing and rowing.”

Ayla believes in the importance of integrating tourism and sports sectors in Aqaba and the kingdom. As such, the company has paid special attention to sports development. It began with golf, developing integrated facilities on an area of 800,000 square meters, which includes the first grass golf course in Jordan. This course has successfully hosted numerous local, regional, and international championships and competitions.

In addition, Ayla has built specialized facilities for cycling and running to encourage visitors and residents to embrace a healthy lifestyle. The company also offers a water ski park for water sports enthusiasts and adventure sports facilities. Ayla has focused on triathlon, duathlon, ultramarathon, marathon, and half-marathon events, and has developed leading outdoor facilities for tennis, basketball, and football, suitable for both training and official competitions.
