Reaffirming its role as a stakeholder in the Marina industry, Ayla Oasis Development Company took part in this year’s 11th Middle East Yachting Conference in Dubai.
Captain Munis Al Momani, Ayla Marina Manager, who represented the company at the event and was one of the panelists, said: “While the GCC countries house the region’s most popular marinas, Ayla has singlehandedly managed to put Jordan on the yachting map. Our internationally accredited marina provides services that meet the highest global standards, and is fast becoming a destination for yacht and boat lovers from every corner of the region.”
Al Momani added that Marinas play a vital role in the local economy. On top of job creation for area residents, marinas are a hub for high-spenders of every stripe and help generate revenue for the harbor’s tourism industries.
This year’s Dubai conference featured panels on a broad range of topics about the sector’s development in the region, one of which looked at how the UAE’s recently implemented value-added tax (VAT) is affecting business. The conference also included lively debate about the future of the region’s marinas, Superyacht Legends, spending trends, and the needs of High Net Worth individuals.
Ayla Marina, which will feature 300 berths once completed, is a new member of the prestigious Yacht Harbor Association (TYHA), a group that aims to promote industry growth. Last year, Ayla Marina became the association’s first harbor member in the Gulf of Aqaba, and one of only three marinas in the Red Sea to obtain the international affiliation.
The state-of-the-art marina is designed to accommodate boats of up to 40 meters long and 4 meters draft. Beyond its distinguished facilities and highly qualified staff, Ayla Marina also stands out with its one-of-a-kind Marina Dry Stack Marina, the first harbor in the region to offer safe and secure dry stack storage with 118 berths. In keeping with the company’s commitment to environmental protection, all of Ayla’s procedures are now regularly monitored by TYHA to ensure that the harbor remains up to code.
Ayla Marina is part of Jordan’s largest mixed use development that is also home to a state-of-the-art golf course designed by the legendary Greg Norman, residential units, as well as dozens of high-end local and international boutique stores, meeting every customer’s expectations.
